Frequently asked questions
How do I get started?
Open the app, sign in with Apple or Google, and tap any world from the catalog. Worlds run on the AI simulation engine — your choices shape what happens next. There's no separate tutorial; the first world you pick is your tutorial.
What are credits?
Credits power AI-generated narrative turns. Each turn uses a small number of credits depending on the simulation engine you've selected. You get credits with your subscription, and packs are available if you run out before the next refill.
How do subscriptions work?
Subscriptions auto-renew monthly or annually through your Apple ID. You can manage or cancel any time from Apple's subscription settings or from Settings → Manage Subscription inside the app.
I bought a subscription on another device — how do I get it here?
Tap Settings → Restore Purchases. You must be signed in with the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
Can I get a refund?
All payments are processed by Apple, so refunds go through Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple declines, email us — we sometimes have other options.
Content moderation
User-created worlds are reviewed by an AI moderation layer before publishing. We block content involving minors in sexual contexts, real-world hate, and instructions for real-world harm. Mature themes are allowed at the same level as comparable AI fiction platforms. To report a world, use the report flag on its detail page in the app, or email us.
Deleting your account and data
Open Settings → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently deletes your cloud account, saves, drafts, and entitlements. Local saves on your device are wiped on the next launch. Worlds you've already published to the catalog stay live so other players aren't disrupted mid-play, but the link to your account is removed and your creator name is replaced with an anonymous label. More detail at our account deletion page.
Privacy and AI
Otherwhere uses AI to generate narrative text and images. We configure our providers for minimal data retention and contractually prohibit the use of your content to train their models. See our Privacy Policy for details.
I found a bug
Open Settings → Send feedback → Something broke. A short note is enough; the app includes version and update details automatically. Email us if you need account or billing help.
Feature requests
Always welcome. Open Settings → Send feedback → Idea in the app so your request lands with the right app details attached.
